Event Description

On Saturday, May 19, 2012 (Armed Forces Day) there will be a special dedication ceremony at Motts Military Museum in Groveport, Ohio.

The museum will be formally dedicating its OH-6 "Loach" helicopter with presentations by three veterans who actually flew that particular tail number in combat during Vietnam - a pilot, an observer, and a door gunner.

The ceremony will also encompass dedication of the artifacts obtained by the museum from the 9/11 attacks on both the Pentagon and the World Trade Center. Making a presentation will be US Representative Steve Stivers (also a LtCol in the Ohio Army National Guard.) His office has been instrumental in obtaining both the helicopter and the 9/11 articles.

The formal ceremony will begin at 10 AM, and the public is encouraged to attend.

I won't be able to make this event but I passed the info along to the Ohio Army National Guard aviation community via the Army Aviation Support Facility"s e-mail group.

I'm a good way from Ohio in Pennsylvania.

But I will be there in spirit.
