My father in law Vic Markham from Waverly, Ohio has 8 brothers and all of the served in the military. Bill Markham passed at age 87 this week. Bill enlisted into the Marines in 1944 and saw combat at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After WWII ended he was in Japan with occupation troops and then stationed at the Naval Training Center, Treasure Island, CA until his discharge from the Marines. Bill then enlisted in the Army as a paratrooper and was assigned to F Co. 504 Parachute Infantry Regiment of 82nd Airborne. He graduated from Ranger school in Fort Benning, Georgia and in 1958 he was assigned to the 101st Airborne as 1st Sergeant Fort Campbell, KY. Serving in Korea for 1 year was assigned to 505 PIR 82nd Airborne Div. Fort Bragg, NC. During his military career Bill had over 600 parachute jumps and was awarded Master Parachutist Badge-Good Conduct Medal 5th award-Combat Infanty Badge-Victory Medal for WWII-Asiatic/Pacific with 2 star medal.

What a family tradition! My condolences on the loss of an uncle. That's great you know that much information about him.
