This is a Stewart M5a1 Tank, used in WWII. it had dual Caddillac engines. When I was a kid I would play on and inside this Tank and play army.
There was a trap door on the bottom, you could slide under it and get in. It was gutted and all white washed. only a drivers seat of metal and a hole for the machine gun that would swivel. I can't figure how four grown men would fit inside, especially with all the noise and heat they had to generate. This type was used both in Europe and in the tropics of the Pacific. God Bless those Soldiers and Marines. SSgt. Dewey Page was my uncle, he was in the Pacific Campain up to IWO JIMA where he was awarded two Purple Hearts and sent home. That's another story for another day. Semper Fi and God Bless.
