Act of Valor- My Movie Review

My husband Dale and I went to see the new Navy Seals movie Act of Valor last night.  If you don't know, this movie's main stars are not actors, but active duty Navy Seals.  Apparently, the filmmakers couldn't get stunt men to do the actions needed to make it realistic, so they used the real thing.  The Navy and Pentagon see it as a great recruiting tool, and after seeing the movie, I would say they are going to be quite successful.

President Theodore Roosevelt- Medal of Honor Winner

In honor of President's Day today, I thought I would talk about Teddy Roosevelt and his Medal of Honor.  I alluded to this and other Presidents who served in the military  in a previous post.  Due to political reasons (ie. some higher ups didn't like Teddy) the Medal wasn't issued until 2001, and of course went to his Great- Grandson, Tweed…

What is the best military museum you've visited?

There are some great ones for sure, including Motts Military Museum featured on this site. I have also been to the new one at Gettysburg, the D Day museum in New Orleans and the Air Force museum in Dayton, Ohio to name a few. All are great and unique.

What's your favorite and why?

Which Presidents served in the military? It might surprise you......

OK, I am little early for President's Day, but this is interesting stuff.  Read down to the bottom:  I have a question for you.  Note:  I assume this information to be correct, but different sources sometimes say different dates of service.  Please let me know if you see any errors, and I will correct them.

Dave Schlemmer, a fellow American Legion member, put…
