Thank you to all of you who are fathers, grandfathers, and father-figures.  Your impact on our lives is tremendous!

A Happy Father's Day to my dad, Stan Robinson.  He was never in the military, but is always very supportive.  However, his father was a World War I veteran.  That is not a typo- World War I.  My dad's dad had my dad later in life, and my father was 42 when I was born.

Grandpa Robinson was an ambulance driver in France, and was promoted  to Sergeant before discharge. His discharge paperwork says he was in the Argonne Forest and other places.  Because my father had a bad falling out with his parents before he was 20, we have no pictures of Grandpa in unifrom.  How I would love to see those!  You can see his discharge paperwork here on this site.  I love the cursive handwriting.

Please feel free to comment about YOUR father or grandfather who served, or start a new story to share.  Perhaps you AND your dad were both in the military, like member Richard Boyd, a Vietnam veteran whose dad was in Normandy on D-Day Plus 1, and also served in Korea.

Plus, here is a neat site I found about this topic, which even has some trivia questions about famous father and sons who served in the military.  It is called Home of Heroes.

Happy Father's Day!
