Ahh a military physical. I remember at the MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) having to duck walk in front of a group of fellow enlistees while in our underclothes. This was the first of many times in the military where my privacy was well, gone,
I almost didn't swear in the day of my physical. They said my left ear had too much wax! They put me in a taxi then to a doctor's office to flush it out. A kid trying to enlist into the Marines that same day but was sent home for an ingrown toenail.
The paperwork they had us fill out was tedious, and they were very specific as to how they wanted it filled out. Put your first name first instead of your last name first? Whoops, expect a scene on your behalf. This was my first exposure to angry and yelling NCOs. You could see all the newbies like me tense up as we all knew this was a very mild preview of what was to come.
So, what are your memories of your enlistment physical and military in-processing?
